The! Sterile Processing Staff Coordinator is responsible for the administration and supervision of personnel in the Sterile Processing Department. The Sterile Processing Staff Coordinator is accountable to the Manager of Sterile Processing and Surgical Supplies for coordination of all related supporting services of the system. Also, assist with the development and implementation of hospital and departmental philosophy, goals and objectives, policy and procedures and performance improvement projects.
The main function of the Sterile Processing Staff Coordinator is that of leadership and to promote a cooperative staff effort in providing the highest quality of patient care and cost effective operations through the Sterile Processing.
Essential Duties:
Establishes work schedules and assignments based on competency levels and surgical caseload.
Develops and implements an orientation plan for new staff to meet individual needs.
Ensures ! the continued skill development of staff.
Qualificati! ons
Education:
Completion of Surgical Technician program or Associates Degree in related field.
Surgery Specific Education: Meditech, Lawson, Excel, and Outlook..
Experience:
2+ years of sterile processing leadership experience or equivalent.
License/Certification:
National Certification.
