ASSISTANT-MEDICAL

Providing assistance to all physicians and nurses in the clinic with patient exams and the efficient flow of patients through the clinic. To provide quality and confidential health care to patients by preparing exams rooms, making appointments and filing completed lab and medical record paperwork.
To assist all physicians with patient exams. The ability to assist specialty physician with surgery and treatment due to additional training, experience and certification.
To work-up charts, call patients, put them in an exam room, obtain historical information and vital signs.
Schedule patient appointments for exams, other diagnostic tests and surgical procedures.
Set-up exam rooms and stock rooms with supplies and clinic forms on a daily basis.
Clean exam rooms and instruments at the end of each day.
To handle phone messages for physicians and nurses and make calls to obtain information from hospitals, labs, other physician offices and ancillary departments for each patient’s medical record.
To call patients and provide report findings from diagnostic tests and to remind them of repeat diagnostic tests.
Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
High School education with knowledge of medical terminology, additional specialty care training and certification and one to three years of experience in a medical practice setting.
