Location: Nashville Tennessee

Description: Vanderbilt University is at present looking to employ Part-Time Truck Driver/ Part-time Clinical Supply Specialist II, VCCOC right now, this vacancy will be placed in Tennessee. Truck driver for VCCOC will transport medical supplies and equipment between VCCOC, Vanderbilt campus, and offsite facilities. They will adhere to DOT regulations, and will maintain required reporting data. They will complete facility/maintenance related tasks as required.

Clinical Supply Specialist II will be directly responsible for performing tasks associated with the dispensing of medical-surgical supplies, patient care equipment and medical implants. Ensures appropriate supplies are purchased, received, inventory levels are maintained, and patient charges are captured. The Supply Technician is also responsible for conducting physical inventories of all supply areas according to the defined schedule.

Candidate will work as a driver approximately 16 hours per week, and will work as a Clinical Supply Specialist II approximately 24 hours per week.

Key Functions and Expected Performances (Driver):
Performing vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness of truck interior and exterior, fueling of trucks, and log trip sheets.

Obey all local, state and federal laws regarding proper operation of transport truck.

Provide safe and proper transport of instruments and supplies in concert with VUMC safety guidelines and policies.

Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have. If necessary, direct the Customer to the Supervisor for further assistance.

Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of VUMC policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Driver

Key Functions and Expected Performances (Clinical Supply Specialist II):

Provide materials requested for patient medical care.

Process requests generated from clinicians for supplies and equipment.

Deliver supply requests in an accurate and timely manner.

React appropriately to stock outs,critical levels and all emergency supply situations.

Assemble case carts according to surgical preference cards.

Drive VUMC equipment (such as truck or tow motor) as needed following all safety guidelines.

Deliver case carts, supplies, and instruments to requested destinations as needed.

Receive all medical-surgical supplies and equipment.

Utilize the appropriate materials management systems to receive supplies and update on hand inventory.

File receiving documentation according to policy.

Follow policy and procedure for receipt of all implants to include bone and tissue.

Ensure appropriate on hand inventory levels are maintained.

Conduct inventory counts according to schedule.

Generate orders based on usage and determined par levels.

Maintain work environment in a safe, clean, orderly manner.

Ensure all locations have appropriate barcodes and locators assigned.

Ensure stock is replenished to assigned location.

Rotate stock and check for expired product.

Follow all safety procedures in handing supplies and equipment.

Maintain appropriate supply chain records and documentation.

Directly responsible for capturing patient charges for all medical-surgical supplies.

Cross reference supplies between departments as appropriate.

Follow procedures to track supplies borrowed or loaned to surrounding hospitals.

Process all returns according to policy.

Serves as a preceptor for new employees.

Teaches proper methods of assembling surgery carts according to departmental standards.

Teaches proper methods of maintaining inventory according to departmental standards.

Provides a positive role model in time, attendance and performance.

Finish Case Carts

Complete the case cart by adding all appropriate supplies per the DPC.

Seal the cart and stage the cart in the finished area.

Basic Qualifications

Hours are as follows-

Will work as a Driver on Saturdays from 3:00 am-11:30 am and Sundays 7:00 pm-3:30 am.

Will work as a Clinical Supply Specialist II -Mondays & Tuesdays from 6:00 pm-6:30 am.

Some overtime/holidays/on-call may be required.

Job requires High school graduate or GED and 6 months of experience or the equivalent.

Candidate must successfully pass DOT physical.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
Valid TN Driver’s License is required.

Copy of Motor Vehicle Records Report (MVR or DMV Report ) is required.
