For complete informations about this vacancy opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. My client, a 250 bed hospital in TN has a need for an Open Heart Physician Assistant. Candidates MUST have Endoscopic Vein Harvesting experience.
This position is responsible for assisting the Cardiovascular Surgeon with AM rounds, consults, admissions, history and physicals, post-op patients and management of patients admitted to the CV Surgeons. The position is responsible for assisting the Surgeon in the operating suites with Cardiovascular surgical procedures and is under the direct clinical supervision of the Surgeon. The position is limited to the cardiovascular service patients and their needs.
EDUCATION: Graduate of An approved Physician Assistant Program.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years PA experience. Experience in pre-op, intra-op and post- op care of cardio-thoracic patients
SKILLS: Proficient in the clinical care of the Cardiothoracic patient, ACLS, Prescriptive Authority (DEA Number). Abide by agreed upon protocol for patient care and possess good communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of computer use
There are three surgeons and they do approximately 300 open heart cases/yr. They will also have to work in the clinic setting and on the floor.
