About the team


Sydney Trains Fleet Maintenance Division delivers safe, reliable, clean and commercially competitive fleet maintenance services for Sydney Trains and NSW Train Link customers. This includes maintenance of electric and diesel passenger fleets for Sydney Trains and NSW Train Link at seven depots spread across the network, as well as technical fault finding advice to crew, in-service response to train faults and failures and emergency train recovery.


Fleet Customer Experience's culture is built on accountability, safety, quality and customer service; we are continually working on improving customer satisfaction and increasing levels of cleanliness of the carriages within Sydney and NSW Trains.


The Opportunity


Right now, Fleet Customer Experience are looking for Cleaner's in Charge (CIC) to join our high performing team across our Sydney network. Working predominantly Night Shift, the Cleaner in Charge role requires flexibility with hours, days and travel.


As a CIC within the Fleet Customer Experience Division, you will be responsible for providing consistent and high-quality cleaning services to the Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink trains. In conjunction with providing front line assistance to your Area Manager, the CIC actively engages the team to develop a strong team-based work culture with the aim of improving cleanliness and safety levels.


Please note that this position requires the applicant to work on a rotating roster consisting of night shifts, weekends and public holidays.


What you will be involved in


  • Ensure that employees are competent and confident to perform their role through coaching and guidance to maintain high standards of performance
  • Leading by example including cleaning up to 8 carriages per shift
  • Coordination and allocation of your teams cleaning responsibilities including resource allocation and ensuring task completion
  • Provide ongoing support and coordination to the Area Manager to resolve any cleaning issues
  • Provide onsite induction for Contractors wherever applicable
  • Actively promote safety and focus on continuous improvement initiatives

Salary and Benefits


An attractive rate $1,234.05 per week plus 10.5% superannuation, allowances, 5 weeks annual leave (for shift workers) and monthly ADO.
