GI Associates & Endoscopy Center seeks an experienced Director of Ambulatory Surgical Center Operations to join its growing practice. GI Associates (GIA) is the largest Gastroenterology group in Mississippi and is on e of the largest in the southeast with over 350 employees. GIA's physicians have a long standing history of dealing with digestive disease management, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and preventative health care management.   • The Director of Ambulatory Surgical Centers is responsible for coordinating the operating functions and processes of all GIA ASCs as laid out by the governing body.
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum three years' experience in a top administrative or management position in the health care Out-patient surgical facility experience Bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, or public administration Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Daily operation of all GIA ASCs Serves on appointed committees as necessary, service as the ASC liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Executive Committee, the Medical Staff, all departments of the organization and all GIA ASCs Reports the pertinent activities concerning ASCs to the CEO/COO at regular intervals Appoints a person responsible for their individual facility in their absence Deploys, monitors and ensures that the facilities operational processes are appropriately integrated within the organization Ensures compliance with GIA's policies and procedures Ensures compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies Negotiates and controls all external contracts, such as those with physicians, ancillary services, and purchasing agreements for the ASCs Fosters positive work relationships among all departments of their facility, act as liaison between GIA's CEO/COO and Governing Board Assists in the continued development of corporate ASC policies and procedures manuals, and ensures staff compliance Holds staff meeting outlining current goals and priorities of the facility Manages exempt and non-exempt employees of all ASCs in accordance with the facility policies utilizing sound principles of practice and fairness Reviews employee performance annually Reviews and approves employee disciplinary action and/or discharge for all ASCs Monitors employee productivity and insures efficiency of staffing levels by management of hours to volume as necessitated by changes in case volume Provides educational opportunities for professional staff development Promotes the implementation of positive customer relations by the employees and physicians Ensures that the clinical services are in compliance with the respective components of regulatory body and accrediting body standards Works in conjunction with the governing body in the evaluation and development of existing and new services in all ASCs Monitors the adequate function of equipment and patient car e equipment through contracted services and follow-up on repairs Attends corporate administrative meetings representing the facility as required Acts in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the facility Maintains membership in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery facilities and healthcare administration Stays current in changes in the healthcare environment, such as reimbursement, legislative issues and business law, and act accordingly in the best interest of the corporation Identifies areas that require additional reinforcement through education, consultation or practicum Attends all mandatory in-services and meetings Follows the facility's professional conduct and dress code policy Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy . Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians and their office staffs, patients and employees
