The Senior Director, Clinical Integration Management Services works with recently acquired hospitals to plan and facilitate integration and transition to LifePoint Quality and Patient Satisfaction systems, policies, and standards. The Senior Director also works with the facility team to evaluate their existing clinical and operational processes in order to help them identify how they can enhance these systems so as to improve clinical outcomes and! the overall patient experience, while reducing costs.
General Responsibilities:
Assesses the newly acquired organizationâs processes of care utilizing the data identified through due diligence and integration activities and with the facility team determines a work plan to achieve identified priorities.
Based on assessment findings, facilitates the scheduling of the HSC subject matter experts (SME) to conduct service specific assessments. Based on findings and recommendations of the SME facilitates development of a project work plan to address findings.
Orients clinical leaders in the use of LifePoint resources/systems such as Cognos, rL Solutions, Policy Stat, SharePoint and PDTS.
Educates and coaches facility leaders and staff in the use of the following tools and tactics, i.e. huddles, briefs, debriefs, executive patient safety rounds, and learning boards to improve patient safety and to develop high functioning teams.
In conjunction with the Group CNO and HSC Staffing Office support the deploy! ment of standard best practice clinical delivery and staffing models to improve outcomes and enhance the quality and timeliness of clinical services across facility services, e.g. surgery, ED, ICU, and Hospice.
Educates and assists facility leaders and staff in the implementation of evidence based patient engagement strategies such as bedside shift report, patient care boards and hourly rounding to promote patient engagement and patient safety.
Assesses clinical department organization structure and guides facility as needed in design of reporting relationships, committee structure and communication pathways.
Assures organization is meeting regulatory compliance and is addressing findings of regulatory/accreditation findings.
Assesses the organizational system for developing, reviewing, approving, disseminating, and assuring the quality of standards of clinical practice.
Assesses the facilityâs culture of accountability and the willingness of the emplo! yees to elevate issues that undermine a culture of safety. Provides gui! dance to CNO and other leaders in developing strategies that support, coach, or counsel employees in response to event management.
Identifies opportunities for âlean managementâ process improvement projects that establish standard work, improves patient care and throughput and contributes to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Supports the establishment of clinical benchmarks by which the acquired facilities can more effectively measure their current and on-going clinical staffing performance as a means of supporting continuous process improvement.
Leverage internal HSC experts within Case Management and Quality to drive significant improvement in care management performance versus value based purchasing standards.
Lead each facility through a process that provides the facility with a two to three year road-map for driving on-going improvement in their clinical efficiency and effectiveness.
Guide the design of assessment programs which identi! fy the core clinical skills and management processes that must be adopted by each facility in order to accomplish their core clinical goals. Then support the development and deployment of talent and skill development programs that address the most significant systemic skills gaps which could also include management structure design.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Education and Special Certificationsâ¦)
Five years previous management experience in clinical staffing and delivery design. This experience should have been within a hospital system where they have had to apply their expertise and process assessment/ design skills across multiple facilities.
Minimum of ten years of clinical experience including six (6) years in a managerial role within an acute healthcare environment; preferably a hospital system environment with recognized leadership in clinical process design and delivery
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required, Masterâs D! egree preferred.
Demonstrated skills in administrative performance,! including expertise in written/oral communication, supervision of staff, documentation requirements, service coordination and case management.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice, applicable rules and regulations and industry standards pertaining to hospital care.
Previous experience in the design and deployment of clinical quality programs that have measurably improved a facility and systems quality scores. Including evidence based design and adoption.
Training and application of lean management process methodologies.
Superior interpersonal, communications and training skills. Including program design and delivery,
Experience driving programs and developing clinical benchmarks including clinical documentation, clinical outcome measures, and clinical treatment plans.
Must be willing to travel from 60% to 80%.
