Position Overview / Purpose
The Territory Representative is responsible for achieving the targeted sales revenue objectives through the successful implementation of Customer Care goals . Responsible for developing and maintaining the business relationships within the assigned territory.
Accountability 1: Sales
 Identifies market opportunities, research customer needs and generates sales / secures orders.
 Achieves targeted unit quota and average selling price for assigned territory.
 Presents pricing and unit purchase proposals to appropriate contacts, in accordance with Company policy authority levels.
 Ensures that all sales activities within assigned territory are conducted in a manner that is fully compliant with Company policy and laws and regulations.
 Heavy emphasis on the achievement of territory growth by opening new Accounts, Surgeon training and education with primary emphasis and responsibility for Baha growth.
 Provides surgical support of Baha, Vista Fix and Cochlear Implants.
 Able to effectively program the Baha Product line, read audiograms, educate Audiologists on programming of this device and troubleshooting.
 Understands the reimbursement environment for Baha and Vista Fix and is able to communicate effectively this information to clinics and hospitals.
 Responsible for professional awareness of Cochlear Implant and Baha candidacy criteria and intervention options to referring medical professionals including: ENT's, Early Intervention, Educators, Primary Care, Pediatricians and Large Dispensing practices.
Accountability 2: Communication
 Establishes strong relationships with all key people in the assigned accounts and territory (Surgeons, Audiologists, OR department personnel, Materials Management, field team members and Medical Professionals).
Accountability 3: Administration & General
 Develops and manages within approved expense budget
 Develops and implements quarterly strategic plans to achieve objectives.
 Executes sales and marketing initiatives and other identified programs, delivering these programs so that the impact on the account is successful and positive.
 Makes presentations regarding products, promotional/public relations, account plans.
 Maintains a professional image when representing Cochlear Americas.
 Provides surgical support and training.
 Plans, coordinates and provides workshops/forums/events related to our devices.
Administrative tasks to include timely reporting, data entry (CRM, CREM, Expenses, Monthly Reports, Market Share, SOP's) and forecasting within 95-110% accuracy
Key Incumbent Requirements: Minimum
 Bachelor's Degree Required
 Prior surgical sales and or experience in Hearing healthcare.
 2 -3 years' proven success in medical device sales.
 Relationships with OR personnel, Purchasing personnel, and Finance departments preferred.
 Demonstrated Contract and pricing negotiation experience.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
 Highly effective presentation skills.
 Able to travel extensively (up to 60%).
 Ability to work within a team setting
