Baptist Memorial Health Care (BMHCC), an award winning $1.6B net revenue, 14-hospital system with over 2,600 beds and 4,000+ providers throughout the Mid-South, announces the establishment of the new Baptist Cancer Center which will be located in Memphis, TN. BMHCC is seeking a nationally recognized cancer professional to provide administrative and visionary leadership to the development of an integrated, system-wide, academically affiliated, multidisciplinary cancer program.
The new Baptist Cancer Center is supported by an investment of over $200M. This support includes a new $100M, 250K square foot flagship facility, recruitment of key cancer specialists to lead the development of multi-disciplinary disease specific programs, translational/clinical researchers to develop clinical/translational trials and a Clinical Trials Core. In addition, a group of highly trained surgeons, clinicians and radiation oncologists will serve as members of the Cancer Center. The new Cancer Center and cancer care delivery for the system will be based on the NCI NCCCP model and on the needs of the multiple communities that BMHCC serves.
Candidates will be highly respected surgical or medical oncologists who have an established track record of academic accomplishments in their respective area of expertise including clinical care, education and clinical/translational research. Prior leadership experience in an NCI or other cancer center is required preferably as a Chief, Chair or Associate Director. Candidates must have dynamic and collaborative leadership skills with excellent organizational and communication skills, programmatic development abilities and the ability to describe the Center’s vision to all audiences.

In addition, the greater metropolitan area of Memphis, TN had a 2010 population of 1.3M, making it the largest city in the state of Tennessee, the third largest in the Southeastern United States and the 20th largest in the United States.
